Description
Heavy Duty Boltless Shelving Features
Rivet shelves are unique and valuable due to their easy, tool-free assembly, high load capacity, versatile adjustability, and cost-effectiveness.
Rivet shelves are assembled by snapping horizontal beams into the slots on the vertical posts and then placing shelves (particle boards) onto the beams without the need for tools. That makes them a unique storage shelving unit.

Particle boards are typically placed on the horizontal beams to create the shelving surfaces. They are made from wood chips, sawdust, and a synthetic resin or binder, which are pressed and extruded into flat panels. Although particle boards are quite inexpensive, we provide boltless shelving with wire decking—a more durable replacement for them.

Heavy duty boltless shelving units have expandable designs and interchangeable components with different types of decks. They are adjustable and can be easily moved to accommodate items of various sizes.
Boltless Shelving Add-on Units
There are a few add-on units available for boltless rivet rack shelving. They include
- Shelves themselves. Extra shelves added to the storage system to increase the overall storage capacity.

- Shelf Liners. Liners made of various materials, like plastic or metal, can provide a smooth surface and prevent small items from falling through. They work perfectly with medium-duty steel shelving.

- Tie Plates. Used to connect multiple shelving units side by side for added durability.

- Ground Anchors. Anchors and other boltless shelving components secure the shelving to the ground for enhanced safety.
- Post Extensions. Allow the vertical posts to be extended, increasing the height of boltless shelving.

- Casters. Wheels can be added to the bottom of the metal shelving units for mobility.

- Bins and Dividers. Storage bins and dividers can be placed on the shelves to organize smaller items.
- Label Holders. Attachments for labeling shelves for easy identification of stored items.
Rivet Shelving Units Applications
Due to the wide selection of boltless shelving applications and their boltless assembly, almost every industry can benefit from boltless steel shelving units.
In the retail industry, boltless rivet shelving helps to organize and display products efficiently. Warehouses and distribution centers rely on it for storing inventory, equipment, and supplies, thanks to its high load capacity and adjustable shelves. Offices and commercial spaces use double rivet shelving for organizing files, documents, and office supplies. In residential settings, it helps in garages, basements, and workshops to store tools, seasonal items, and household goods. Additionally, industrial sectors employ rivet shelving to manage parts, machinery, and raw materials.

Boltless Shelving Material Comparison
| Surface Type | Applications | Durability | Load Capacity | Maintenance | Ventilation |
| Wire Decking | Warehouses, Retail, Industrial storage | High: Resistant to damage, less prone to bending or warping | Moderate to High: Can support substantial weight, especially when reinforced, ideal for heavy items | Low: Easy to clean, minimal upkeep required | Excellent: Allows for maximum air circulation, prevents dust accumulation, ideal for items needing ventilation |
| Wooden | Office storage, Retail, Home use | Moderate: Can warp or crack over time, susceptible to moisture damage | Moderate: Suitable for lighter items, not ideal for heavy or industrial use | Moderate: Requires periodic maintenance, can warp or crack, may need refinishing | Poor: Solid surface that traps dust and debris, no ventilation for items |
| Steel | Heavy-duty industrial, Warehouses | Very High: Extremely durable, resistant to most forms of damage, can withstand heavy use | High: Can support very heavy loads, ideal for industrial and heavy-duty storage | Low: Minimal maintenance, though can corrode if not properly treated; periodic cleaning recommended | Moderate: Allows some air circulation, better than solid wood but not as good as wire decking |
| Plastic | Light industrial, Retail, Home use | Moderate to High: Depending on the type of plastic, resistant to moisture, may degrade under heavy load | Low to Moderate: Suitable for lighter to moderate items, not suitable for very heavy loads | Low: Easy to clean, resistant to most chemicals, but may need replacement if subjected to heavy wear | Good: Allows some air circulation, prevents major dust accumulation, better than solid surfaces |
| Particle Board | Light industrial, Home use | Low to Moderate: Prone to damage, particularly from moisture, can break under excessive weight | Low to Moderate: Suitable for light items, not ideal for heavy use, can sag under weight | High: Can be damaged easily, may need frequent replacement or repair, susceptible to moisture damage | Poor: Solid surface that traps dust and debris, no ventilation for items |
| Melamine | Office storage, Retail | High: Durable, resistant to scratches and stains, can withstand moderate use without significant wear | Moderate: Suitable for office supplies and light retail items, not ideal for very heavy items | Low: Easy to clean, low maintenance, surface can be wiped clean easily, resistant to most stains | Poor: Solid surface that traps dust and debris, no ventilation for items |
